Absolutely stunning Gennaro Borriello Italian cameo pendant and brooch, beautifully framed in 18K yellow gold. Gennaro Borriello is recognized as an important Italian cameo artisan from Torre del Greco, Naples, a historic area famous for its cameo and coral craftsmanship. This piece is truly a work of art.
The cameo features a beautifully carved classical female figure, possibly a muse, surrounded by floral details, fruits, and a water-pouring scene. The relief, depth, and details are absolutely beautiful. The photos do not do justice to how impressive this piece looks in person.
The piece is marked 750, which is the European mark for 18K gold, and it also has maker’s marks on the gold frame. I can also see what appears to be the artisan’s signature on the lower right front area of the cameo.
